End of the road for Sunnyside

Wednesday 18th February 2009.

The recent anouncement that The Sunnyside Inn, Northampton is to close has shocked Billy Fury fans everywhere. The news that the site of Billy's last live performance in December 1982, a month before his death, was to be demolished was all the more worrying when the date of closure was published to be the 6th March, two weeks before the date of this years gathering of fans and friends of the legendary singer. However, a last minute stay of execution has allowed the celebration of Billy's music to go ahead as planned, on the 21st March, with the date of closure now put back, due to a delay in the sale of The Sunnyside to housing developers.

Tickets are still available for what will be a stunning show performed by over a dozen tribute artists with Billy's friend from the 1960s, Vince Eager headlining the event. For more details go to the Sunnyside 2009 page on this site or visit www.billyfury.com

Paws in the Park  25th May 2008.

Wednesday 4th June 2008.

Raising money for people living with cancer.

Following a successful, if rather wet, walk around Hylands Park, Chelmsford on Sunday 25th May, we are pleased to announce that a total donation of £187.00 was given to Macmillan Cancer Support by the Fabulous Fury team.

Thanks go to Katie and her chocolate labrador Budkus for joining us on such a miserable and wet day, and friends Theresa and Graham from Northampton for their support.

A sterling effort was put in by both barking vocalists, Chica and Barney, who aren't getting any younger, and of course, wife Diane who actually admitted she enjoyed the walk.

Well done to everyone involved in the event and for turning out in such awful weather.
