Andrew Tween was introduced to music as a child, learning piano from the age of 7 and teaching himself guitar in his early teens.
A career in the Royal Navy, and the possibility of avoiding duties whilst in training, prompted him to join the ship's volunteer band and learning to play the cornet, flugel horn and tenor horn he continued to play in a number of the Navy's leading brass bands throughout his 16 year service.
Taking up singing while working in the Balearic Islands, Andrew was briefly involved in a 5 piece harmony group, The Heartbeats, singing bass. Whilst working with other artists on the club circuit in Mallorca, a good friend and well known Magaluf cabaret artist, ARFUR, suggested he sang like Billy Fury.
Having been a lifelong fan of Billy's music, and influenced by many of the artists of the 50s and 60s, Andrew began producing backing tracks for the songs, in a spare
room at his home in Santa Maria. Returning to England he continued to build on a collection of tracks, recording the songs in a home studio, purely as a hobby.
The results were somewhat better than expected so his wife, Diane, booked a professional studio session as a birthday present and the album Fabulous Fury was recorded.
